XDAILY eXplained Daily – science for curious minds

Editorial policy

Good science writing is honest about what we know, how we know it and what is still open. These are the rules every XDAILY explainer follows.

Sources we trust

We build on established knowledge: space agencies such as NASA and ESA, national academies of science, geological and weather services, peer-reviewed review articles and standard university textbooks. Single new studies are reported cautiously and in context, never as a final answer.

Checked twice

Each explainer is written by one person and checked by another, with key numbers traced back to a source. When we simplify, we try to simplify in a way that will not need to be unlearned later.

Uncertainty is part of the story

Where scientists are still debating, we say so and explain the main positions. We distinguish between what is firmly established, what is well supported and what is speculation.

No clickbait

We do not exaggerate dangers, promise miracle discoveries or write headlines that the article cannot keep. We do not invent quotes, studies or statistics.

Medicine stays with doctors

Explainers about the body explain mechanisms. They do not give health advice and they never suggest treatments.

Independence

We are not paid by companies or institutions to cover topics. Advertising comes from Google AdSense and is visibly separate from our text. Projects from the same publisher are listed only on the page Our other projects, never hidden in an explainer.
