XDAILY eXplained Daily – science for curious minds

Cookie policy

Cookies are small files that websites and third parties store in your browser. Here is how they are used on XDAILY and how you stay in control.

What XDAILY itself stores

XDAILY sets no cookies of its own, and our statistics work without them. The only thing our pages keep in your browser is a short note in session storage recording that the small burst of red and gold stars, our nod to Spain's 2026 World Cup title, has already been shown, so it does not repeat on every page. The note vanishes when you close the tab.

Third-party cookies

Google AdSense provides the advertising on XDAILY. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • deliver ads and cap how often the same ad appears;
  • measure views and clicks;
  • personalise ads based on your activity on this and other sites, if you agree;
  • detect and prevent fraud.

In regions where consent is required, Google's consent message lets you decide before personalisation cookies are used. You can revisit that decision through the message's privacy link, in Google Ads Settings or at www.aboutads.info.

Google Fonts and Cloudflare receive technical information such as your IP address to deliver fonts and pages. We do not use them to track you.

Managing cookies

Your browser's privacy settings let you view, block and delete cookies. XDAILY works normally with third-party cookies blocked; ads will simply be less personalised.
